Forks are either 1 inch or 1 1/8 inch for the thread-less. There is 25.4 mm per inch, fork travel is measured in mm but the steerer tubes are still in inches. http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_ha-i.html#…

    Teach a man to fish.
1 1/8″ for an mtb fork is the same as 1 1/8″ anywhere else.
    Multiply by 25.4.
    1.125 x 25.4= 28.575. Call it 29mm

  3. sno f says:

suspension fork steerer tubes are not measured in (mm) only in (”) this is the standard. 1/8″ = .125″ . 1-1/8″ = 28.58mm. an 8th is 1 of 8 pcs.

  4. Neil says:

The 8th is 1/8 of an inch. So there are 8 in an inch.
There are 25.4mm in an inch
    So 1 1/8 inch is 25.4 + (25.4/8) = 28.58 mm

    1.12500 inches = 28.57500 millimeters
