What Mountain Bike Would Be The Best For My Money?

I am getting into Mountain biking and I would like to get a fairly good MBT for around $500-600. Trek 4300, Gary Fisher Wahoo and Specialized Hardrock Disc are some I am looking at. What should I get or is there another I need to look at?

  1. i personally own a marin “bolinas ridge” i bought it back in 2005 and it Works wonderfully for the what it cost me. also its held up to a lot of beating up… i take it to some off road trails around here and its good for jumping and all that.

Specialized hard rock disc or rock hopper are great entry level bikes. Gary fisher is also good. however in my experience for the lower level models Trek lacks in the quality of their components compared to specialized and gary fisher for the same price. Also, another company with a wide range of entry level bikes is Giant. I have tried the gary fisher and spec. and liked the spec more.

  3. well all 3 are good bikes, i started with a trek 3900,then over time i upgraded to some better components, turning a good bike into an even better bike, still wasn’t my dream bike ,but it was close, finally saved my money and got my dream bike a gary fisher tassajara, still have both, and cant pick one over the other as to which is the best

I rode all these bikes before buying the Haro Flightline. It fit me better. You need to get the bike that fits you! You can get the Flightline Comp in your price range.
