I’m in the market for a new mountain bike and see good ones starting at $1000. However, I found a “boutique” mountain bike by a company called Intense and the bike was much nicer than the others. However, it was $3600. Am I nuts to spend that much for a bicycle?
I went mountain biking this weekend and had a blast. I own a ironhorse maverick 4.2. Everybody that I was riding with were using treks. The whole time they were probably at least 10Min’s ahead of me. When I compared bike weight mine felt like it was at least 2 times as heavy. I am new to this and really enjoy it. After this year I would like to invest into a better bike. Any ideas or suggestions to my issue. Is it even in the bike or is it my conditioning? Thanks for any advice!!!
I know that getting rear suspension on a mountain bike eats up some of the energy I use to pedal the bike, but can someone give me an idea of how much? How much will this effect me on a long bike ride?
Am I going to notice an increase in effort if I go from a hard tail to a full suspension bike?
How much will a new innertube for a mountain bike cost to be bought and fitted by halfords cost?
I don’t know if I should get an entry level hybrid or an entry level mountain bike.
This will mainly be for the commute to school and for cruising around in the neighborhood.
Would it be better for me to ride a hybrid or a mountain bike with slicks? Which would help me climb paved hills better?
It seems like there’s a lot of disparity from one brand’s shoe to the next, whether the shoes are made for road biking or mountain biking. Some mountain biking shoes seem more comfortable for everyday use or for walking. What’s the downside in getting mountain biking shoes for a road bike?
My family has just started going mountain biking at various parks and other locations and I realized my old bike is a little small. I need a full sized men’s mountain bike with full suspension and (preferrably) disc brakes. I am hoping to spend around $300.00 but if it’s worth it, I can spend more.
Any insight about a mountain bike around this price will be very helpful.
Thanks
Also, I found a cool Kawasaki mountain bike, but I don’t know if it’s any good.
I’m thinking about buying one but I would like to know how much they weigh.
Hi,
I have 2 old BMX freestyle bikes that I would like to sell. 1 is a Schwinn Predator Pro, the frame is 4130 chrome-moly steel. The wheels are built up with, a Joytech hub set, with ARAYA aluminum rims, and have 48 spokes per wheel. All of the other parts on the Schwinn are labeled ” YO! ” including the tires. The other bike is a Mongoose Decade, it also has a 4130 Chrome-Moly frame. The wheels are Skyway 6 spokes, the components include Dia-Compe brakes, DynaMax saddle, and a Spin-Tech handlebar clamp. Both of these bikes have front forks and handlebars that can spin around with out tangling up the front brake cables. Both bikes have foot pegs on the front forkes, and mounting points for foot pegs on the rear drop-outs. These bikes be longed to my brother’s boys, who use to do trick while ridding them. My brother gave the bikes to me to sell, and I want to know what their worth. My brother told me he payed over 200 dollars a piece for them new back in 1987.
