Is There An Easy Way To Make A Mountain Bike Into A Stationary Exercise Bike Without Buying Trainers?

I’m looking for a cheap/easy way to convert my mountain bike into a stationary bike, or at the very least use it indoors without motion, and I’d really like to avoid trainers due to financial reasons.
Any suggestions on how I might rig something up?

I bought a second hand magnetic resistance trainer for $20, You couldn’t rig anything up that cheap, and you might easily damage your bike, you need some kind of resistance unit to make you work, and you need a strong stand to support your bike, very difficult to make yourself unless you have access to a full machine shop and welding equipment.

On the bottom tubes on the frame attatching to the rear wheel, put a milk crate under each side, so the back wheel doesnt touch the ground or the crates. you could take off the front wheel for balance and put a crate under the forks too, but you dont have to. I hope it works for ya, happy biking!

Where I live, the utility bike stand bought from LBS can support the bike and cyclist safely. For spinning Resistance I find and tie some weights (can be nuts/pebbles/stones/washers) to the rear wheel spokes along as I train
