How Can I Find A Mountain Bike Suspension Fork From A Few Years Ago?

I have an old bike so I’m not looking to spend a lot of money. I was thinking about perhaps an older year’s model like 2006 or 2007. Does anyone have some ideas where I can buy this? I found a shock absorber from a mountain bike one day and tried to put it on my mountain bike with a plain fork. It didn’t fit because the bar on the shock absorber was too thick to go through the hole in the frame of my mountain bike. Is it like this with all bikes without shock absorbers?

I rode a Cannondale f7 and a Trek 7.2FX. I like how easy the Trek was, but when turning I hit some sand and the back tire slid. On the Cannondale mountain bike I hit the same sand and was fine, but it is much harder to get the bike going. Just not sure what to buy.

i just recently bought this mountain bike and it is working good but the disc brakes need a bit of adjusting i think. this is the first time i got disc brake bikes and don’t know much about them. the problem is that the brake pads have contact with the disc or the rotor when i spin the wheel. it doesn’t spin freely and spin slow. also i checked that the disc is a bit to the left in the caliper. i tried to loosen but it didn’t even move. can you guys help me or possibly give me a guide?

I will have the bike shop guy set me up with the right size and everything, but will using more road-friendly tires increase my speed and distance? I love mountain biking but I figure I need to start using my bike for all-purpose activities, such as getting groceries. I want to be able to go further and faster but without purchasing a road bike.

I purchased everything I need, and built a mountain bike. I had the frame powder coated white and with “POLICE” decals purchased on ebay, decorated it accordingly. At first glance it might appear I stole it from an officer of the law. A closer look would make it obvious I didn’t. Just wondering if this is not legal, even if I keep it away from air shows and other places the bicycle cops patrol.
