You cannot put hybrid wheels on a mountain bike because the size of the wheels is different so they would not fit in the frame. You CAN however put hybrid tires on a mountain bike. By putting on higher pressure hybrid tires, your bike will roll much easier on the street and will be close to the performance of a hybrid. If you were to use a 7000 series versus a mountain bike with hybrid tires, the additional benefits you would see would be a lighter weight bike and a higher (larger/faster) top gear.

What are you trying to accomplish? You can put hybrid TIRES on mountain bike WHEELS easily enough, presuming you intend to ride more on the road than off. No need to replace the entire wheel.
