Can Someone Help To Suggest A Good Mountain Bike?

Thanks in advance for answering. I am a Munro bagger and I am looking for a mountain bike to allow me to access some of Scotland`s more remote Munros. The requirements are as follows:-
It has to be able to withstand up to 20 Kms of track and path in each direction,
It has to have enough gears to be easily ridden up hilly paths, and down obviously
It will be getting tied to trees and hidden in the heather whilst I climb the mountian, so it has to easy to immobilise,
It has to fit onto a current shape Nissan Micra.
Should I go for new or secondhand?
Cheers.

Got a Scott Yacora for sale if you’re interested. 24 gears, front suspension, bar ends, hybrid tyres, quick release front and rear wheels, all original bits and bobs.
Bike rack shouldn’t be any problem.

i recently bought an 06 orange crush and it is incredible for off roading and doing jumps along the way. I also use it to cycle to friends houses ranging from 2km to 6km so it is a good all round front suspension bike that takes a lot of throwing around aswel.

EBay is the way to go. It sounds like your not so interested in the bike as its ability to get you from point a to b. I would get one with front suspension. Try these brands they are inexpensive and will get the job done. Fuji, Motobecane, Jamis, GT, and Giant. They have a lot of bikes that won’t break the bank and yet have good components on them.
